Getting to Mexico

We recommend flying into the Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR). You will need a passport to travel internationally. Do not forget to ensure your passport is valid for at least six months after your return travel date.

Domestic airlines that operate flights to PVR include:

  • Alaska
  • American
  • Delta
  • United

For those traveling from Southern California, flying out of the Tijuana airport is a safe and cost-effective option. We recommend utilizing the CBX (www.crossborderxpress.com) for the most streamlined departure.

Mexican airlines that operate direct flights to PVR include:

  • Aeromexico
  • Viva Aerobus
  • Volaris

Getting to Sayulita

Sayulita is a ~45 minute drive from PVR. We recommend hiring a round-trip car service as it is the most convenient and reliable option. (Sayulita Luxury Transportation)

Alternatively, Ubers (~$25 USD) and taxis (~$50 USD) are available. Ubers are not allowed to enter the airport passenger pick-up area, so you will need to use the walking bridge to exit the airport in order to meet your driver.

We do not recommend renting a car.

Getting Around Town

Despite the uneven sidewalks and cobblestone streets, Sayulita is an extremely walkable town. All of the beaches, shops, and restaurants are just a few paces away.

Golf carts are a popular option, especially for those who will be staying at one of the may Airbnbs outside of town. (Roly's Rentals).

If you wish to visit any of the surrounding area, taxis are the most cost-effective option. The pick-up area is at the south end of the town square and the all applicable fares will be posted.
